Concept of Studio Environment
Overview
The Studio environment has been introduced to Eleveo WFM to facilitate forecasting and scheduling and provide additional flexibility. There is a Forecasting Studio and a Scheduling Studio, each permitting the creation of any number of drafts and then building production forecasts or schedules based on them.
A draft is an outline of a forecast/schedule. Multiple draft forecasts for the same time period can be created, each based on different historical data or containing a variety of adjustments. Similarly, more than one draft schedule can be created for the same time period.
Production forecasts/schedules are the final ones, used within a company. There can be only one production forecast for the time period, and this forecast is used to create a schedule. Similarly, each person can have only one production schedule assigned for the selected time range.
Forecasting Studio
The Forecasting Studio environment facilitates the configuration of any number of draft forecasts and allows for them to be applied to the production forecast. A production forecast can be considered as a long-term timeline. It is filled with blocks of time (time ranges) using the draft forecasts.
The benefits of draft forecasts include:
draft forecasts for different time periods can be based on different historical data
draft forecasts for one time period can be based on different historical data for comparison
To display all forecasts (draft and production), expand the Forecasting module within the navigation tree and click Studio. The Forecasting Studio screen will display.
Click on the View option to display the details of a draft forecast. If you want to customize it by applying some adjustments, use the Edit option. The wizard also allows you to put the forecast straight into production.
Scheduling Studio
The Scheduling Studio environment facilitates the configuration of any number of draft schedules. Each new schedule is based on a production forecast and is limited by the selected time period and queue. Similarly to the production forecast, the production schedule is a long-term timeline. This timeline is filled with blocks of time (time ranges) using the draft schedules.
To display all existing schedules (draft and production), expand the Scheduling module within the navigation tree and click Studio. The Scheduling Studio screen will display.
Click on the View option to display the details of a draft schedule. If you want to modify it, use the Edit option.
The benefits of draft schedules include:
a new shorter schedule can be created to overwrite the current longer schedule (for example to create an exception from the schedule for one day)
different groups of people may be assigned for different time periods
two managers can create schedules for different periods independently and then apply them to the production schedule
When a schedule is ready, it can be put into production, and as a result, it will be visible to all affected people. They can review it using the My Schedule screen and create requests (Vacation, Shift Swap) as needed. The status of the schedule (In Draft, In Production, or Auto Scheduling in progress) is displayed in the Status column:
There is only one production forecast and one production schedule for each queue for each day.
