Patch Release

These are releases of a product version that involve minor alterations to fix bugs that have been reported. These are indicated by the following versioning: “X.Y.Z” where the final digit is greater than 0. Example: 10.0.1

Minor Release

These are releases of new versions of a product, including new features, enhanced technology, and functionality. These are indicated by the following versioning: “X.Y.0”, where the Y (middle digit) is incrementally higher. Example: 10.1.0

Major Release

A Major Release is a release of a product that contains a specific feature set or introduces a significant change in software or technology that breaks backward compatibility. Versions are defined by the first digit of a version number, EG, 9.X.X = Version 9. Each version has at least one Minor Release (see above) where new features are made available to the Customer, and several Patch releases (see above).

Indicates the currently installed build. This number references the current feature set and/or bug fix that is currently installed. It may be requested by our support engineers.

End of Life Update - LTS Version

Version 7.1 - EOS June 2024

Version 7.1 will reach its end-of-support date (EOS) in June 2024. The last maintenance version will be released at that time. Version 9.4+ replaces version 7.1.

To support our customers during this transition period, Eleveo will offer limited support for version 7.1 until the end of 2025 with the following important limitations:

No regular maintenance patches will be provided
Patching of critical applications or security issues will be performed on a case-by-case basis
The operating system will no longer be patched as the vendor discontinues support
Eleveo may decide to release ad hoc patches for third-party components

LTS Version 2025

A Long-Term Support (LTS) version is available that can be easily upgraded from version 9.x and will be supported for a standard period of two years. The hardware specifications can be found on the Hardware Requirements page.

Support and Upgrades

You will be upgraded to the most recently released Version prior to being able to make changes or enable new features on your existing deployment.

As an example:

  •  If you wish to add a new site to your deployment or enable a feature, you will be asked to upgrade your current system first.
