Managing Roles

Eleveo User Management supports two types of roles:

  • Application roles – roles specific to a client application (for example, QM or WFM) and its modules (for example, LiveMON, Conversations Explorer, eLearning). These roles are imported when the application is registered as a client.

  • Realm roles – custom roles created manually.

Eleveo User Management itself is also considered an application. Roles for managing users, groups, or configuring realms are available under the User Management client application.

Roles in Eleveo User Management are also structured by type:

  • Effective roles – privileges that enable specific application functionality, equivalent to permissions (for example, manage-users).

  • Composite roles – pre-configured sets of effective roles that simplify user setup (for example, DEFAULT_CCMANAGER).

A user can have one or more composite roles assigned, as well as individual effective roles.
