Integration Details

Cisco Meeting Server (CMS) brings video, audio, and web communication together to meet the collaboration needs of the modern workplace.

It allows anyone to create and join meetings through:

  • Cisco or third-party video endpoint

  • Cisco Jabber® client

  • Cisco Meeting App

  • WebRTC-compatible browser

After a recording is finalized, encoded, and written to a shared Network File System, the Cisco Meeting Server Integration transfers the media to Eleveo storage and writes all the recording’s attached data, extracted from the CMS CDRs, into the Eleveo database.

The attached data can be used when searching and displaying recordings in the Conversation Explorer.

Limitations

  • Video only – CMS provides only video files.

  • Variable video size – It is necessary to account for the large file sizes that will be stored when calculating disk storage space requirements.

  • Length difference – There is always a tiny 5 to 6s difference between the indicated and the actual length of the CMS Meeting recording, the CMS Recorder needs this interval to establish the recording session.

  • Possible data loss –

    • During a restart of the CMS Integration service, no recordings being processed by the CMS Integration service (at the time of a restart) will be stored.

    • In the event that the Eleveo Interaction Service stops for a period of time exceeding 2 minutes, then all recordings terminated after the service stop will not be stored by Eleveo Quality Management.

  • No Media file encryption – As Eleveo imports the encoded MP4 files as they are provided by the CMS and does not process them further, the encryption of these media files is not supported.

  • Limited MLM support – There is limited support of MLM Tools for CMS Video. Only these tools are supported: Unprotect, Synchro, and Delete from UI.
